Maun, Boteti, Rakops, Central Kalahari, Deception Valley (days 12, 13, 14)

This where daddy takes over: Rakops garage. There is now permanently diesel in Rakops, and the old hand pump has been replaced. This is the last stop for fuel before entering the Kalahari. You can get water at the Motsware gate. They also sometimes have forewood there (but not always, so worth taking your own). Once you are in the park there is no firewood.

Heading south into Deception Valley.

Early morning game drive.

Deception Pan.

A fairy nest of some description.

Tie-down swings...

Mila spent a lot of time in the Kalahari looking for ghosts and then trapping them in bottles. Here she is on ghost watch.

Sandy Delandy bathed in gold as the sun goes down and the lions come out...
